Extensive professional career work

I have worked as a career counselor/coach for over 30 years as well as directed career centers at two local universities. I gained broad experience in working with individuals and groups in one on one meetings, group programs, and presentations.

Throughout my career I have worked with

  • Undergraduate and graduate students of all ages

  • Alumni

  • Prospective students and people from the community

  • Individuals from diverse backgrounds

  • Clients with interests in or preparing for a wide array of career fields.

These career fields have included

  • healthcare

  • business (sales, marketing, accounting, finance and others)

  • technology

  • science

  • social services

  • government and others

In previous positions, it wasn’t unusual for me to meet with 4 or more individuals with different majors, career interests and in very different stages of their career journey.  They ranged from entering the job market to making major career shifts, seeking advancement at middle age, or refocusing interests and goals in their 50s or 60s.

I have a passion for my work and bring decades of experience in connecting with clients. I enjoy assisting them in all aspects of career exploration, reflection, decision making, and developing job search tools and skills. This includes resumes, messaging, personal branding, assessments (Strengths, Strong Interest Inventory & Myers Briggs Type Indicator), interviewing, job search, graduate school exploration and planning, LinkedIn profile development and more. Clients consistently tell me that I am positive, encouraging, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
